Task 1: Reading and inquiry

Instructions
  1. Choose one of the four topics that make up this learning pathway -Collective intelligence, Sociological discoveries, The Empathic Civilisation or The Economy for the Common Good. Remember that:
    • You should choose that subject that appeals you the most
    • You will always be on time to change your mind and choose another topic, if you feel that your first choice is not interesting enough
    • Moreover, if you have time, you can also consider and/or study two or more topics
  2. Look below, in the Resources section, for the heading of the topic you have choosen and click on it. In the page that will open you will find open educational resources with which you can begin to get information. Note that:
    • These resources are offered in order of increasing complexity. That is, the first of them offer information on that topic with a low degree of difficulty, while the latter one is that resource which addresses the topic in a more complex way, usually at an university level
  3. Read, listen or watch each of those resources. No need to make a formal study if you do not want. It will be enough to receive that information and to take note of those aspects which will be more interesting or striking for you, in order to then share them with your colleagues
    • If you can study all the resources belonging to that topic, great!
    • If you can't, that is, if there is a moment when the information becomes too complex, you do not need to insist. Leave it and proceed to the next point (point 4)
  4. Once you have studied the resources provided here, start you own search and inquiry on the subject, as described in the tutorial we gave you in the first learning pathway
    • Try to lead your inquiry towards those aspects of the topic most interesting to you, and not be afraid to deviate too much from the original topic, provided that it maintains any relationship with it
    • If you do not find anything related to your inquiry, you can always start a new line of reading and inquiry through any of the rest of the topics in this section. Thus, you will have a broader view about the issues discussed in this learning pathway
    • Remember that the inquiry work can be done individually or in teams with one or more fellow students in this course
  5. Do not forget to take some notes from:
    • Everything that you find of interest or catches your eye
    • Those aspects which cast doubts on you or you think are downright wrong
    • And everything you consider is changing your view of things
  6. That's it. Good research!
