About Myself
I hold a doctorate degree in fisheries from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Nigeria and have considerable experience in in the following fields: aquaculture, impact asssessment studies (Hydrobiology and Fisheries, fish environmental physiology.I worked for over sixteen years as a counterpart scientist with the African Regional Aquaculture Centre (ARAC), a UNDP/FAO project hosted by Nigeria through the Nigerian Institute for Oceanography and Marine Research (NIOMR). At ARAC I was involved in capacity building programmes for fish farmers and extension staff from Federal and state ministries, and ADPs.
Academic and Research Interest
I teach undergraduate courses in Fisheries and aquaculture. My research thrust is in fish nutrition and use of waste in production of renewable energy.I am a consultant in aquaculture, hydrobiology and fisheries to environmental consulting companies to Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited (SPDC), Elf Petroleum Nigeria Limited (EPLN), and ExxonMobil Nigeria Unlimited. I have participated in several environmental impact assessment studies, and also monitoring and evaluation of aquaculture projects for development agencies. I have a written research papers on hydrobiology of perturbed aquatic environment and on fish nutrition
