“The Adventures of Butterfingers: From Academic to Pandemic and Beyond”

Zest, the Department of English, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College, University of Delhi, organised the second lecture of Zest lecture series 2021, “The Adventures of Butterfingers: From Academic to Pandemic and Beyond” link title, on the 9th of October 2021 at 11 am on Zoom. Prof. Khyrunnisa A was the speaker. There were about 77 attendees, including Dr Rohith P, the teacher-in-charge and the faculty members, Dr Pramesh Ratnakar, Dr Anubha Mukherjee Sen, Dr Jayini Adhyapak, Dr Lalit Kumar, Mr Ranbeer Kumar, Dr Mishail Sharma, Dr Pooja Bhardwaj Sharma, Dr Ankita Pandey and Mr Chandrashekar Yadav. The event was streamed live on the Zest YouTube channel with the help of the Computer Centre of the college. The event started with a welcome speech by Sneha R, the president of Zest. Prof. Khyrunnisa A began to talk about her book Butterfingers, which was mentioned by Sneha R, in the welcome speech and then spoke about the importance of books through anecdotes. She shared few techniques from her experiences to inculcate the habit of reading in children from a very young age and shared few moments associated with the writing of the Butterfingers series. She addressed the issues faced by students, teachers and academics during the pandemic. There was then a Q&A session after which Dr Anubha Mukherjee Sen, Dr Pramesh Ratnakar, Dr Rohith P, Dr Pooja Bhardwaj Sharma and the other faculty members gave their remarks.

The event came to an end with the vote of thanks proposed by Nandana P R, the vice president of Zest.
