SolarPunk and My Experiments with Net-Positive Living

On 18th November 2021, Zest, the English literary society of the Department of English, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College, University of Delhi, organized the fourth session of Zest Lecture Series 2021, “Post-Pandemic World: From Pandemonium to Paradise?” at 4 pm on the online platform, Zoom. The session was titled "Solar-Punk and My Experience with Net Positive Living” and Akshay Tandon (An Entrepreneur and the Co-Owner of F. C. Goa) was the speaker. The participation number was around fifty including the Faculty Members. Dr Rohith P, the Teacher-in-charge, Dr Anubha Mukherji, Dr Jayini Adhyapak, Dr Lalit Kumar, Mr Ranbeer Kumar, Ms Mishail Sharma, Mr Chandrashekhar Yadav, Dr. Pooja Bhardwaj Sharma and Dr. Ankita Pandey were also present. The event started with a welcome speech delivered by Nandana P R, the Vice-President of Zest..

The lecture was an apprising and enriching experience for its participants as well as the viewers, since it revolved around the ‘importance of reducing carbon footprints and the need for the future to have an energy saving system'. Sharing his experience with net Positive living, he talked about his goal and the investments he had made in the architectures that focused on the betterment of the environment and utilized the resources as less as possible. He also discussed his interests in football and how he manages his Football team.

The lecture was followed by the Question/Answers session where the participants questioned him about how difficult it is to own a football club and his future plans targeting the amelioration of the ecosystem.

The Zest YouTube Team took a few photos of the session with teachers and students for archiving and records. The event was streamed live on the Zest YouTube channel. It was also uploaded on the Zest YouTube Channel-YouTube

The program culminated with a vote of thanks proposed by Sheena, the Treasurer of Zest.
