Establishment and Status of the Training Institution
Chawama Youth Project (CYP) also known as Chawama Skills Training Centre (CSTC) is a community based Training Centre, not for profit making, established in 2001, registered with registrar of societies of Zambia and TEVETA (Technical Education, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Training Authority).
BP Zambia surported the organisation with infrastucture development and additional equipment,IICD supported the organisation with information and communication technologies (ICT) by empowering the organisation with computers, scanner, Video camera, Digital Camera, capacity building in ICTs and studio equipment for audio and video recording, as well as providing for resources to connect to the Internet. Using these resources, the organisation was able to add additional activities such as:
Training in computer short and internet basics Graphic designing (e.g. production of calendars, brochures) Internet services (e.g. email for community members, information searching) Audio and video recording
Activities
CSTC focuses on training and production. More specifically:

- Power electrical and house wiring
- Automotive mechanics
- Welding and metal fabrication
- Computer short courses
