Current Work

I am a Senior Lecturer, Distance and Online Learning, in the College of Education at Massey University. My current work consists of postgraduate teaching and research in e-learning. IN 2009 I will be working on re-developing postgraduate programmes in e-learning and researching blended learning here at Massey. I am active in a number of professional organisations including the Distance Education Association of New Zealand (DEANZ) as an executive committee member, the Australasian Society for Computers In Learning In Tertiary Education (ASCILITE) as an executive committee member and campus representative and International Society of Learning Sciences (ISLS) on the membership committee.


Past Work

Prior to taking up the academic appointment, I was the E-Learning Facilitator for the College of Education at Massey, a strategic advisory and consulting position. Prior to that I was involved with online course development and teaching at the University of Southern Queensland.

Learning design, online teaching, blended learning, learner support in e-learning, online communities/learning communities, social learning theory, social presence, online collaboration, qualitative research, learner experience
