WHY CLIMATE FINANCE
Goal
My name is Anne Mbatia and my life's purpose is to shape Africa’s future. I hope to become a policy maker and consultant in Carbon finance. I will cultivate diversity in Africa through linking the social, economic and ecological dimensions in the African landscape. I am optimistic that Africa will compete at the global market and have bargaining power in global issues.
Motivation
The shortage in Carbon finance expertise in Africa, motivates me to pursue a career in Carbon finance. Market mechanisms will be a key component of sustainable development in Africa in the coming decades and I will be among the best experts in the field.
Opportunities
The global climate finance setting remains complex and incoherent for most African countries. As the global climate finance continues to gain traction, Africa is still oblivious of the many opportunities of such finance in development. It is due to this shortcoming that I hope to partner with local organizations like carbon Africa, regional organizations like AfDB anfd international facilities like GEF.
