Mr. G. Anbalagan has been working as Assistant Regional Director at IGNOU Regional Centre, Madurai. He holds M.Sc. & M.Phil in Environmental Science Bharathiar University – 1995-97), PG Diploma in Distance Education (IGNOU - 2013) and submitted thesis for Ph.D. in Environmental Science (Bharathiar University). He cleared UGC-NET in the year 2007. He joined as Assistant Regional Director in IGNOU and worked at IGNOU RC, Visakhapatnam (2012). He has written number of papers in various National research journals. Prior joining IGNOU he has worked at various middle management positions at the Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai.

He has been invited to deliver lectures on topics of Environmental Education, Environmental Pollution, e-waste management, Distance Education and Waste management to the college students at Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and Rajahmundry of Andhra Pradesh.

He has attended various National & International level Conferences, Seminars & Workshops and presented more than 25 papers

His area of interests is Environmental Education, Waste water treatment, Environmental Pollution, Waste Management and Promotion of Open and Distance Learning. He is an active Environmentalist serving for Open and Distance Education in the area of Student Support Services,
