PROJECT DESCRIPTION
OPEN SOURCE ONLINE/OFFLINE SELF ASSESSMENT SYSTEM FOR STUDENTS
Abstract: Keeping aside the traditional methods of manual exams, I want to design the OPEN SOURCE ONLINE/OFFLINE SELF ASSESSMENT SYSTEM FOR STUDENTS. Which enables students to write some descriptive answers, draw diagrams, decorating with colors in easy manner. This provides separate layout and information for both student and administrator. Student can take up his exam online/offline and can view his result in a pie chart. The code for this project will be written in PHP, JAVA SCRIPT and HTML5.
Previous experiences: I have previous experience in designing a VIRTUAL LIBRARY SYSTEM(aims to create a good library system in majority of schools in ANDHRA PRADESH region) this system is going to be launched by the end of 2014 in some regions of ANDHRA PRADESH. Details of the project proposed: OPEN SOURCE ONLINE/OFFLINE SELF ASSESMENT SYSTEM FOR STUDENTS gives the exact result of the examination. This can be used as an alternative to the manual exams OR this kind of exams can be used for practice purpose by which student can experience a virtual exam environment.
Some designing aspects: The look and feel (user interface) of the design will be done with HTML and CSS. If the student is willing to take-up exam offline (descriptive exam) we make some validations using JAVA SCRIPT. For suppose he is writing a MORAL SCIENCE exam: evaluation will be as follows 1) Grammatical mistakes will be automatically identified (some mark will be reduced for each say some 0.5 mark) 2) We define some set of keywords and the system automatically looks for that set of keywords in a specified area. If not found some marks will be reduced 3) We design some algorithm which runs background and checks the meaning of that sentence. Based on that we allot marks for students.
If suppose the student is asked to draw a diagram (let’s say that is in 8 shape):
1) Student can use the tools for designing that a) Plots some points (as shown below)

b) Design the curve shapes

. .
c) Color to those structures
The background program will be in such a way that it checks for the curves between the two points if they exist points will be awarded.
In the similar manner we make questions for filling the blanks, choice questions and so on using some self-designed algorithms. My other qualifications: 1) Student of MICROSOFT INNOVATION CENTRE 2) Cleared MICROSOFT certifications like: MTA (MICROSOFT TECHNOLOGY ASSOCIATE) certification 3) Cleared 2 MOS (MICROSOFT OFFICE SPECIALIST) certifications. 4) MICROSOFT CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL (MCP) 5) Basics in ANDROID APP DEVELOPMENT
