Personal Information
Ms Tasokwa Kakota is a lecturer in mathematics in the department of Basic sciences at Bunda College of Agriculture in Malawi. Tasokwa is also a curriculum specialist in mathematics. She has assisted her country to develop curriculum for secondary and primary school mathematics. She is also a trainer of trainers in participatory and constructivism approaches. Tasokwa has good presentation and facilitation skills. She has presented mathematics papers in a number of international conferences. Tasokwa is affiliated to a number of professional bodies namely; Southern Africa Mathematical Sciences Association (SAMSA), Mathematics Association of Malawi (MASAMU) and International Network for Women Scientists and Engineers (INWES).
Education Background
She holds a Bachelor of education majoring in mathematics from the University of Malawi, Chancellor College and Master of Education from Virginia Tech and State university, USA
Research Interests
Her current research interests are on the application of mathematics in agriculture and Gender in Mathematics and science. Tasokwa’s vision is to venture into mathematical modelling, research methodology and Biometry. She is looking for an opportunity to study research methodology or Biometry.
