What should this page contain?

This page was created in December 2007 by User:Shehulahi. When I found it in December 2010, searching for what might be available on the WikiEducator site in terms of freely available science education materials, the only thing listed was:

QUOTE

Managers need scientific formulations to excel on their job. For instance, operational research formulation such as linear programming is needed to assess the profitability of a product.

UNQUOTE

User:Shehulahi has only a rudimentary user page. The statement that "Managers need scientific formulations to excel on their job. For instance, operational research formulation such as linear programming is needed to assess the profitability of a product" perhaps says something about management (not my field), but it says nothing relevant about science (my field) So, I removed the statement as well as the link to the site of the Nigerian Open University as it is not made clear what the NOU offers to WikiEducator in terms of CC-BY-SA licensed materials in the area of Science.

In addition to the Basic Books in Science I have now listed on the page, I invite others to list other relevant resources.

We may collaboratively also work out an introductory statement (perhaps the size of a paragraph) about the nature of science and why it is useful for people to familiarize themselves with the sciences and learn about them.
