Update on Handouts4Teachers project

Jump to: navigation, search

Hi Karen,

Let me update you where we're at with the Handouts4Teachers initiative - its a relatively new concept and in the early phases of development.

We're at the stage where colleagues at Christ College in New Zealand have developed a few examples - they haven't been uploaded yet ..;-(. I try and get this done ASAP.

The idea is to develop a set of examples for teachers - which will hopefully generate ideas for developing handouts. The model we were thinking of was to work collaboratively in the wiki space developing the content. Once the worksheet was finished, we would then convert this into an open office document to make is easy for teachers to customise and print.

In the mean time - WikiEducator has a technical project under development which will enable us to go directly from wiki ==> pdf - thus making it easier for teachers to download print versions of the handouts.

We will be promoting Handouts4Teachers in a BIG way next year. We're planning to train at least 3000 teachers in basic wiki skills and hopefully teachers will be keen to work on the Handouts4Teachers initiative.

I'll let you know when I've uploaded the lessons.

Cheers
