Thoughts about navigation templates
Hi Brent ---
A few thoughts on the navigation template
- Looking for a generic navigation template that we can use to replace all the current navigation templates, for example:
- Like these in the help tutorials
- Or these used on the Cost & finance materials
- A hack on the front page navigation like this one used for PCF5 would be nice
- Do we include the feature to have main links and sub-links like the navigation on the main page?
- Would be nice if we could incorporate an image element.
- The idea is to use named parameters in the form
- I'm not sure of the best way to deal with the "Heading" of the navigation when required.
- We must think about the layout when optional parameters are not used.
Advantages
- Promoting consistent look and feel accross the wiki.
- Making it easier for users to set up navigation templates that look smart and professional
- The ability to have one print specific template, eg that will suppress the printing of navigation on all pages using the Navigation template.
Hope this helps.
