The other side of the coin
Is there room for some debate here? You give a very nice presentation of Sugata Mitra's ideas. A few of us, though, are a little concerned that the apparently child-centred reading of Mitra's approach merely masks the fact that it is essentially tech-centred. The first lesson the children learn in a SOLE is that the truth is online, and perhaps it is not too much of an exaggeration to hear the tablet/laptop/iPad silently saying: "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life."
Some of us see the continuing need for a TOLE (teacher organised learning environment) in which the children are introduced to a non-tech-centric view of the world.
We are fumbling our way to articulating some of these doubts in posts like the following:
Hope you don't mind our interjection.
