Temporary fix for template when going to pdf
Thanks for that; I see that it places the template stuff below the TOC on the web version. I think this would be ideal for printing the collection. I would use your new template on the first page and take in the logo, and then my usual template for the subsequent pages. Nice work, thanks.Dmccabe 03:23, 15 December 2007 (CET)
The idea is that -
Template:Foo_print replaces Template:Foo when printing. The parser looks for a Template:Foo_print and will use this if it can find a print version -- otherwise it tries to parse the template used for rendering the web page.
I see; I gave it a shot and it works very well. Thanks for your ongoing work on all of this stuff. The pdf generator is impressive. I just sent an example along to the students from last year and I encouraged them to visit here. One intent in designing the course is for the students to leave with usable lesson plans. I think the pdf ads a very professional polish to their pages. SO thanksDmccabe
No worries!
I've been working on the vision of this suite of technological capability since the late 1990s - At last it has arrived!
Still need to sort out the bugs - so I appreciate the testing on your end.
This technology will help teachers.
- Lesson plans
- Handouts for use in the classroom combined with suggestions and tips from educators using these resources
By the middle of next year we hope to have an OpenDoc export so teachers can edit and adapt locally on their desktops!
