Templates & Categories
Hi James, I'm not entirely sure what you mean.. I'm afraid I don't uunderstand "transclusion" or "substition".. nor why using a category would be useful...? Is it so that anyone can pick up the nav templates and drop them on a page that is seperate to the Handbook? which would be very cool! And in terms of having multiple templates (ie Template and Page Name) this was to get the drop down effect.. Is there a way to get that drop down on the one template?
I've added brief pages with links to meta for Help:Substitution and Help:Transclusion. By including a category with the template, you won't need to manually categorise each page to be in the BloggingHandbook category, i.e., you just need to add the navigation template. This has several advantages, including that if you want to recategorise the handbook quickly, you can do it with one edit. What do you mean by drop-down effect? PS As you know I'm not a fan of LQT - how about a normal page dedicated for talk about the BH? -- Jtneill - Talk 23:51, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
