A pic would pretty this up. We need to get them thinking about the flexibility of the design. So refer them to the flexibility continuum. Check this has already been mentioned somewhere and refer back. Casey & Wilson dimensions of flexibility.

Also need to remind them about learning design before they get to the portfolio activity - maybe in the introduction.
