MBLEPMY FIRST ASSIGNMENT
Guys as per an sms that was circulated by Shumi a few hours ago. We would need your ideas as to how we can tackle this assignment. When weget all your ideas we will condense them and come up with a solid plan of action that will include who is responsible for what and obviously the timelines. It is our belief that if we start as a group this will makethe rest of workload more easier to tackle after finding a common ground. We will come back with our plan of action next week sunday when we will be able to share with the rest of the team.To this end your ideas will be required
There are 3 main sections to this question. Section 1: 25% Section 2: 50% Section 3: 20% Can we assign the guys with project management experience to the 50% section? --Shumimlingo 16:29, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
We agreed on the company. The next thing is what do we need to get started. We need to have an inventory of whats required, and by when?
Yes i think we need to hammer that section very hard. The 1st question is basically relying on theory ( concepts, project dynamics etc) The 2nd question calls for application, how NC can address its challenges based on EPM fundamentals and the recommendations with plausable reasons. The 3rd question is basically marrying theabove two questions.
Hove and Kago have you guys start to come up with a game plan or not. Seems we havent made progress to kick start the discussion. Am I right or wrong?
The motive for this discussion is to get you guys' valuable thoughts such that we draw up an action plan it will be along the lines of the group's recommendations.
you are right sir. however it is our ambition to move away from the notion that assignments are owned by certain individuals. so what we are suggesting is that you have read the assignment kindly provide suggestions on how you view the assignment should be tackled while we wait to acquire the all the necessary resources.
hey fellas. i noted the initial questions require a bit of literature review, and some of us are yet to receive the books so we were a bit handicapped, hence the seemingly unpreparedness. however as mentioned, we invite your much valued input even at this primary stage.
Point taken Kago, but the purposes of having a team is to provide leadership and guidance. If that means allocating task to team membetrs, then so it be. We might bas well need to have action points to get this working. Not a very good start, and i hope this will improve and soon.
I think if it is a team work we can get volunteers to some of the questions. We could have allocated individuals their parts that is very easy but we thought group insight first will help. Not sure whether iam making any sense.
yeah I have...the theoretical knowledge base required is high. Its a detailed case study with high analysis requirements. --Shumimlingo 16:49, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
we do apologise a thousand times for the disappointing start. lets kindly make head way with the how we are going to tackle the assignment. You noted it requires a "great deal of theory" JC and "...high theoretical knowledge requirement" Shumi so are we suggesting that we should assign people chapters to read...
Hove and KG,
I believe the concern is that we don't have an action plan that we can critique as a group. I know earlier you cited that you would have this ready during the week. Kindly circulate this to us during the course of the week such that when we meet on Sunday we're discussing a document that we've had a chance to look at.

Shumi you are right. I think we could have even assigned duties to individuals and/or sub groups even without the prescribed textbooks and other resource. However, looking on our need to the right things first time we decided that we should have a common understanding. Right now we should having volunteers to all the questions instead of dictacting without looking on individual capabilities. It is our apology guys that we might have perceived this idea in different ways. Do we have any volunteers to any specific questions?
Guys, i have read the assignment, i known we have already identified the company, but frankly because i haven't read the books or much more documents on EPM, its becoming difficult to ascertain he next steps.
Are these sections of the assignment breakable into independent pieces or are they interdependent? Maybe, this will guide us on a logical way to approach it.
