Hello from Kirsten

Hi everyone, Sorry for the very late introduction. My name is Kirsten and I teach in the IT department at Manukau Institute of Technology. I teach a range of courses, ranging from Information Systems, Multimedia and Web Design.

I am currently teaching full time and also have a night course. This is my first semester doing this Certificate and I eagerly enrolled into two papers; this one and the eDesign course. I also work in what's called the 'Enterprise Unit' within our department. It consists of about 6 lecturers who provide IT solutions for industry. Our department started this unit to ensure that our lecturers stay current and maintain our skills in industry. As I'm writing this, I've realised that I may have taken on a bit much this semester! But I have a passion for teaching and I hope that will help keep me motivated throughout this course.

I was unable to participate in the teleconference as I was teaching at the time. Hopefully I'll be able to take part in some in the future.

It was interesting reading all your posts. There seems to be a wide range of backgrounds and it will be great to learn from each other's different experiences.

Regards, Kirsten

hello kirsten great to see your intro. You will be busy this semester by the sounds of it. we are lucky to have someone with your information technology, multimedia and web design background in the course. I am wondering about your previous experience in usability and other types of elearning evaluation - anything associated with web design? Talk more soon - on your blog. Bronwyn
