Comments on Your User Page
- Good to see your user page again, Benjamin. I like the photos, especially that you brought your two boys on to it. Lots of good material. How did you remove the word "User" from your user page? Recommendation (we do not have to be bad to get batter); keep adding more, especially your descriptions of your WikiEd resources and projects, and your personal interests. Perhaps yo could also add a Spanish User page and put a link to it from here. --Phil Bartle 02:30, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for your comments. To be honest, I don´t remember how I removed the user name from my main page. I´ll have to look at it again and try to remember what I did.--Benjamin Stewart 17:15, 5 April 2009 (UTC)
Ok, Phil, I think I figured out how I removed the "user" from my user page. If you click on the move link located in the page tabs along the top of the screen (i.e., page, discussion, edit, etc.), this will give you the option to rename and thus redirect your User:your name page to some new page.--Benjamin Stewart 03:14, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
Ben, Phil -
The User:name space is intended to keep all user pages in the same name space (dedicated area in the wiki)
Moving a User page into the main wiki space -- opens up opportunities for anyone to edit, change a page which is intended for personal use.
I'd recommend keeping User pages in the User namespace.
If you want to get rid of the User in front of your name try this:
{{MyTitle|Write your name here without the User:}}
This force the wiki to display a different title for the page.
Cheers Wayne
Ok, I can breathe again...my user page is back. I lost it for about one hour after adding the following code:
"MyTitle|Write your name here without the User:" (brackets are removed here in order for the code to appear in this message-don´t know why that is however).
I think I can live with the title as is.
Saludos, Benjamin
