Aims of education

we know that education is a process of developing intellectual power. what type of education can help us to acquire the ultimate knowledge of everything in the universe ? Does our present system of formal education capable of motivating learners to the way of extreme knowledge ? Discovering new knowledge or learning the existing knowledge- which should be taken as the aim of education ?
