The midwife's office is in close proximity to the birthing rooms and living area of the Birthing Unit. It is important that midwives are able to have some privacy when needed and also to refresh themselves by withdrawing from the intensity of the birthing environment when it is appropriate to do so. The office is equipped with a bed so that the midwife can rest when necessary.
