Phanocerus
The larvae of Phanocerous are easily distinguished from other genera by their extended lateral margins. As in Stenelmis, the procoxal cavities are closed.
The adults can be distinguished from other genera by their distinctive antennae- rather than being filiform like Stenelmis, they are clubbed. Also, the procoxae are transverse rather than globular.
