One disadvantage of using subpages of a user page | 0 | 08:28, 3 July 2009 |
You say the author must copy/paste into the main namespace when the time comes, but that is not the case. All one needs to do is type
{{subst:User:Name/subpage}}in the edit box of the new page, hit save, and then all the content is copied over. See meta wiki's article on substitution.
Also, autoconfirmed (those that entered an email address into their preferences, and clicked on the email in the link) may use the move tab. In respect to getting user page content to the main namespace, all one has to do is move the user page to the title wanted in the main namespace. The redirect created at the user page can always be blanked out for later use in another project, or maintained as links to the new pages, which also gets rid of the annoying bit about having to change one's links.
