TEACHERS DAY CELEBRATION

ZEST TEACHERS’ DAY CELEBRATION 2021

Zest, the department of English, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College, University of Delhi celebrated the teacher’s day on the 6th of September 2021 on Google Meet. Around 65 participants attended the event. The Principal Prof. Hem Chand Jain and our professors, Dr Pramesh Ratnakar, Dr Anubha Mukherji Sen, Dr Jayini Adhyapak, Dr Rohith P (head of the department), Dr Lalit Kumar, Mr Ranbeer Kumar, Dr Mishail Sharma, Mr Chandrashekhar Yadav, Dr Pooja Bhardwaj, and Dr Ankita Pandey too graced the occasion with their presence. The event started with a welcome speech by Sneha R, the President of Zest. The event was managed by 3 Anchors from the second year, imitating literary characters. The program started with a pre-recorded song by Sahaj Nair from the Third year and Nandana P R from the Second Year. The event also had other pre-recorded performances among which were a song by Nilesh, a dance performance by Nyasha, a speech by Sree Aadithyan from the Second year, and a piano performance by Akshat Mahajan from the Third year. Two games were organised for the teachers: guess the animation, where the animations of each teacher was created by Shikha from the second year, and guess the literary character/text. Digital greeting cards were presented to our Principal and all the faculty with messages by the Zest Content team and haikus by Pawan Kumar Soni from the Third year. The Zest Theatre Team presented a pre-recorded play. The Zest Organizing Team managed the whole event. The Zest Executive team, Zest Graphics Team, Zest YouTube Team, Zest Content Team, Zest Theatre Team, and the Zest Office Bearers worked hand in hand, despite being apart. A collage video comprising the beautiful photos of every teacher and the screenshots of the online classes were presented. The Zest Team surprised the teachers with a video where the students of the Zest Team wished them a Happy Teachers Day. Dr Pramesh Ratnakar, Dr Jayini Adhyapak, and Dr Mishail Sharma addressed the students. The event culminated with the Vote of Thanks presented by Richa Sharma, the Secretary of Zest.
