Weblog Tasks

Organisations

Using the organization you worked on in class. Provide a summarized description of what this organization does, where it is situated, what area it covers and how it could be seen as effective within a governance context. Please provide a web link to this organization, insert a graphic to support your summary. (300 words) Due date: Friday, March 4 at 5pm (emailed to me) - posted to the blog by Friday, March 4 at 8pm.(10%)


Sustainable Cruising

Describe 3 sustainable practices which could be used on a cruise ships and provide an example for each, either from your experiences or from a website. Post a photo to support your summary. (300 words) Due Monday, March 14 at 5pm (emailed to me) - posted to the blog at 8pm. (10%)


Eco Tourism

What are the potential positive impacts associated with ecotourism? Describe at least 3 positive impacts and how these contribute towards not only eco tourism but ethical tourism.(10%) Provide at least 3 examples from different tourism operations to support your work. Due Thursday, March 24 at 5pm (emailed to me) - posted to the blog by 8pm. (10%) Word range (350-450 words)


Models

Using the Great Barrier Reef as your topic (destination) please complete the funnel model as per your facilitators instructions and email by Monday, April 4 at 5pm before posting your model (as a PDF) by 8pm. (20%)


Accreditation and Certification

Provide a description of a sustainably certified tourism operation (of your choice) with evidence of at least 3 examples of how the certification has been met. Emailed to me by Monday April 12 at 5pm - posted by 8pm. (10%)

This assessment (group of activities) is worth 60% of your total mark.

Each activity has a percentage mark attached.

  • a copy of your post must be emailed to me by prior to your post going on the blog (instructions are on the assessment)
  • ensure you use the "Assessment" category before publishing your post
  • each posting is to be completed as per the descriptions in the marking rubric on the associated blog posting.

If email and posting are more than 2 hours late (without consultation with me) they will only be eligible for the lowest range of marks on the marking rubric.
