  1. Great start to the course - excellent work. Interesting photo, and the dialogue and sharing is great! You were one of the first posters, and I can see, by analyzing the post, that you respond to your peers and are engaging them. Areas for Improvement (we can always improve!). Broaden the conversation to share your knowledge of animals; how they affect you / others, and what impact they have. As we move through the course, share insights you have for applying the theory - as in Goffman's Theatre perspective - that People perform differently say, at the dog park than at the office, and try to fit in...

  1. Good start - interesting! To keep the engagement up, reply to other post-ers by drawing their attention to specific details that you've shared, or areas where (in the coming weeks) where / how the theory can be applied. I have noted that you have made the Instagram post, but you have to Submit Directly via the Assignments on Canvas.

  1. Good start! - try to get the conversation / sharing going! In the class, there are many people who share your interest, OR are CURIOUS to learn more. It's OK to prompt them by email to remind them. Ask them a question too, so they can respond to you.

  1. Good start - do share the details. When people know about you / your post in greater detail, it gives them an opening to respond in a deeper, meaningful and more connected way. This in turn invites other people into the conversation, because it gives them a "point of entry".

This could be in-person, by email, text or posting on their Instagram - sharing your perspective and inviting them to share their ideas on yours. You have to be gentle about it though - and create an opening for others to respond in a deeper, meaningful and more connected way. This in turn invites other people into the conversation, because it gives them a "point of entry".

Let's go to the next level - up from functionality, and integrate theory here. People who play 'games' are wearing masks, 'performing', taking on new characters and connecting with peers, and fans, even building up a following - Goffman is a start, but the other authors give plenty of ideas and theories to work with.

How does this play out in real life, or imagined life / and with different audiences? Do you go to Comicon? Interesting taste performances there, acting out imagined situations in real life!
