Question from Pam: Do you know if anyone is doing research from the New Zealand employer perspective i.e. professional and trade organisations (e.g. boat builders) driving it as a requirement for education deliverables and if they are not why not, and what are the impediments. I raise this because universities and polytechnics seem to say that what they deliver is in part, or largely, determined by the market. There was that preliminary research done in Perth about 3 years ago regarding planners, engineers and landscapers and I’m wondering if there has been any similar work in NZ.
