PARTS OF A COMPUTER

A personal computer can take many forms.The most prevalent type of computers available in schools is IBM-compatible model.Modular units usually consist of the following separate components:

the monitor

The monitor is also called the VDU (Visual Display Unit).It is an output device.It is an electronic equipment which displays images generated from the video output of devices such as computers .A newer monitor typically consist of LCD,with most older monitors consisting of cathode ray tubes (CRT)

the keyboard

A key board primary function is to act as an input device.Using a keyboard ,a person can type a document,use keystrokes shortcuts,access menus and play games and perform a variety of other tasks Most keyboard have between 80 to 110 keys including:
