Introduction Activity One (Required Activity)

Before we get into content, let's get the learning and media tools together. For this subject, you will need to access the course discussion forum. You may also use Twitter to share ideas and follow international research centers. Here's how you get them..


Required: Access the course discussion forum

  • The course discussion forum is located here
  • To write in it, you will need to create and account by clicking on the 'sign up' button on the top righthand corner.
    • Put in an active email address
    • Choose your own username
    • Put in the name by which you will be called in this subject
    • Use a password that you will remember
  • You will receive an activation email. Follow the instructions.
  • Once your account is activated, you can start writing in the forum.

Optional: Create a Twitter account

  • Researchers, modern diplomats, and UN and other organisational officials use twitter actively to promote their activities and link to key documents. Having a Twitter account will allow you to access these.
  • As the subject progresses you will be able to converse with your peers by using the hashtag #UOWResM. The hashtag allows to you filter and find tweets on a similar topic.

Instructions

  • Firstly, got to twitter.com and set yourself up an account.
  • When choosing a Twitter handle (your name), try to choose something short and sharp.
  • If you are worried about anonymity, use your student login, and delete it after the class.
