Students can get credit for this subject and on successfull completion they can apply to the Masters of International Studies at the University of Wollongong. Students may apply for advanced standing.

Credit for the University of Wollongong OERu Subjects

There is a marking fee of AU$400 per subject, which includes marking and providing feedback on all the assignments you submit, and an online interview. You will be emailed after the course has started asking if you'd like to the assessment for credit option, and you will be required to pay prior to the end of the course. However if you are just interested to learn about the topic, there is no cost to access the materials, participate and learn.

Four subjects have been offered in this format. These are:

• Global Issues: Concepts and Challenges

• The UN, Global Governance and Diplomacy

• Research Methods and Design

• Introduction to Human Rights

Masters of International Studies

If you complete these subjects you are encouraged to apply for entry to the Masters of International Studies at the University of Wollongong. Applications for advanced standing for the four subjects completed will be considered.

Research Methods training for further post-graduate study

The Research Methods subject may assist you to qualify you for a range of further postgraduate research options including at the University of Wollongong.

Fees and Refund policy

Please note that paying the assessment fee is like paying to take the driving test. You don't get a refund if you fail the test. During the course of the online interview you must demonstrate that you and you alone have completed the assessments and have met the learning outcomes before you will be confirmed as passing the subject. The small fee we charge covers only the staff time to review and mark the assessments and conduct the online interview.
