RAF SURVITEC EPIC
Team RAF Survitec Epic
This is a cycling team that has been put together and selected by Peter McCrory to compete in the 2010 Race Across America, which is a 3000mile bike race from Oceanside, California to Annapolis, Maryland in 9 days or under.
About the Team
This team consists of 4 riders and 6 support personnel. The riders are all either serving or ex-serving Royal Air Force personnel from a variety of backgrounds from aviators to medical specialists to logisticians. The support personnel are all serving Royal Air Force Personnel again from a variety of specialisations such as Intelligence Officers, Physical Education Officers, to Medical Support Officers.
Training
Some of the training at the minute is not as consistent as we would like it to be for lots of reasons. We are all in full-time employment, although that is up for debate with some of the team! We all have families and the majority of us have children of various ages. That together with other life commitments pull on the available time that we all have to dedicate to the training that is required to complete this huge challenge.
