Prossy Isubikalu is a female married Ugandan national. She was born on the 15th January 1973. She is currently a Lecturer at the Department of Agricultural Extension Education, Faculty of Agriculture, Makerere University, Kampala Uganda, where she has served since 2001. Prossy has a PhD in Social Sciences (Wageningen University, 2007), MSc Agricultural Extension Education (Makerere University, 1999), and BSc Agriculture (Makerere University, 1997). During her PhD study, Prossy focused on the strengths and weaknesses of the farmer field school approach especially in the Ugandan context, which she published as a book with WageningenAcademic Publishers. As an academician, she: has attended and actively participated in national and international meetings; published and co-published journal articles and provided outreach services to the community. She is currently supervising a PhD student and 3 MSc students. She has served as an external examiner to Massey University, Newzealand. Recently (August 2008) she was among 12 academicians whose proposals won a competitive research grant under NORAD II funding to strengthen research at Makerere University. Her interests are vested more in planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating participatory extension methods; rural sociology and community development initiatives; Adult learning/education; facilitating processes for change; and personal mastery for enhanced performance.
