An organization may contain workers from different countries who are of different ages, genders, communication skills, cultures, ethnicities and much more. Soft skills are very important for managing diversity effectively. Read Section 2.2 of Chapter 2 in Principles of Management from Saylor Academy. This is a long but important read that may challenge some of your assumptions.
Brie Code worked in the video game industry for many years, notably as a lead programmer for Ubisoft Montreal. Before she left Ubisoft, she was involved in creating their diversity programme. She knows personally about the challenges and suggestions for managing a diverse team. Read this 2015 interview where she talks about her involvement in a diversity initiative at Ubisoft Montreal to increase diversity in the video game industry.
