Suicide is defined by a human taking their own life.

Currently, if a person threatens suicide they can be involuntarily committed to a hospital. Laws vary in different states in the United States. In some states, the criteria for someone to be involuntarily committed related to "mental health" issues can be PLAN MEANS INTENT.

PLAN - Does some have a plan? Do they have a WAY they want to commit suicide. This can be hanging, overdose, firearm, drowning, etc.

MEAN - Do they have the ability to carry out that plan? If they say they are going to overdose, or shoot themselves, do they have a firearm or drugs available to carry out the plan?

INTENT - Do they have the DESIRE and the INTENT to carry out the plan and/or commit suicide?
