edit   Poetry! Poetry engages students on many different levels and is a vital tool for the development of critical awareness, evaluation and thinking skiils. Generally poetry can be a tricky beast to teach, what with the sheer range of material available as well as the issues of whether to focus on aspects of comprehension, language features, writing, responding or simply accessng what you consider to be important poems. There's lots ot consider and the following material goes part way to helping. Feel free to use, adapt and add to!
