The art of making decisions
In the video about making hard choices you viewed earlier, you learned how people make difficult decisions. But how does this translate in an organization where the objectives are not our own?
Consider the following questions as you complete the readings below:
- How much does your personal decision-making style affect the choices you make as a manager?
- How can you avoid making bad decisions?
- Is decision making different when groups are involved?
Read the following sections from the Principles of Management book available from Saylor Academy:
- Section 11.3 of Chapter 11, to learn more about common decision-making mistakes and how to avoid them.
- Section 11.5 of Chapter 11, to learn more about project premortems.
- Section 11.4 of Chapter 11, to learn more about making decisions as a group.
