Key Issues that arose in the session

Qualifications frameworks have become a global phenomenon with more than 70 countries at various stages of developing and implementing national qualifications frameworks, four regions developing regional qualifications frameworks, and at least one transnational qualifications framework under development for the VUSSC

Wikis offer an alternative to opening access and transparency during standards development, also within formal qualifications systems

Wikis allows for contributions to be made on a continuous basis during standards development, even though it is necessary for standards to remain fixed for specific periods at a time

The Virtual University for the Small States of the Commonwealth (VUSSC) presents a ‘laboratory’ wherein the idea of open standards can be piloted and researched
