Redundant home page. As the blog title is editable and links back to the home page, the home page menu option is redundant. To conserve real estate I recommend that we remove the home link.
- PL Edit - Home page is added as part of the menu. Using the WordPress menu config tool can remove or add this
- Is there a way we can script the theme install so the default removes the home menu? --Mackiwg (talk) 22:53, 6 February 2015 (UTC)
- PL Edit - the menu creation page creates the initial menu which can be changed later if needed.

Icon graphic for pedagogical templates not displaying. See for example here and Key points here.
- PL Edit - Harvest script issue?
- I had expected the icons to be embedded in the theme, but we can change the harvest script to hotlink them from WikiEducator. --Jim Tittsler (talk) 07:26, 11 February 2015 (UTC)
- My preference is to have the icons for idevices packaged with the theme. --Mackiwg (talk) 21:18, 15 February 2015 (UTC)
- PL edit - problem is the image path is in HTML brought in from the harvest script, so the image being part of the theme won't change this as the HTML is there already

Navigation hierarchy not working displaying correctly. Looks like all level 2 and level 3 pages are currently behaving displayed as level 2 items in the pull down navigation (see for example links under courseware)
- PL Question - Could you add some more info?
- Compare the pull down menu for courseware in the WP version with the courseware pull down menu in this snapshot example. (See also the hierarchy of the courseware section in the wiki course outline. --Mackiwg (talk) 23:23, 6 February 2015 (UTC)

- PL - Fixed in the last version I believe

Third level navigation (example: Assessment > Peer evaluation) menu appears improperly placed: it should probably open to the right of the existing dropdown element. (Actually third level navigation was intended to be an in-page navigation element as mentioned below. Dropdown menus opening off dropdown menus have some accessibility challenges and can also be annoying on touch devices.) --Jim Tittsler (talk) 07:50, 11 February 2015 (UTC) Appears fixed in version of 2015-02-17. --Jim Tittsler (talk) 03:31, 17 February 2015 (UTC)

Would be nice if we could implement a different background colour in the drop down menu to signify the current page in the drop down menu. (Or suitable alternative) See for example this snapshot
- PL Added in a new colour for this
- Thanks. Is there a way in WP to make the alternate background in the dropdown menu for the current page to persist, i.e. the alternate colour is always displayed according to the current page. The current implementation shows the alternate colour when selected. If I collapse the menu, and return to the same pulldown menu without changing the current page, the alternate background does not display. (See behaviour of alternate background in menu item for current page in this example. --Mackiwg (talk) 23:10, 6 February 2015 (UTC))
- PL Should persist as it uses .current_page_item class
- Doesn't persist in version of 2015-02-17 (Using chrome) --Mackiwg (talk) 03:40, 17 February 2015 (UTC)
- PL edit should do now
- Example: Visit https://wordpress-oerudevpgogy.rhcloud.com/course-guide/technologies/# and expose the Course guide dropdown menu. The Technologies menu item is not highlighted to indicate the current page. --Jim Tittsler (talk) 03:18, 23 February 2015 (UTC)

Image links. Image attributions of CC licensed images is a challenge. If we link back to the source image in the wiki, we should be fine because users can access the metadata. Currently the image link in the demo is pointing to an internal WP link. If we do import images to WP, we will need to figure out how to bring in the metadata for proper legal attribution. (Pointing back to the wiki may be easier for this version.)
- PL Edit - Harvest script stuff?
- PL Edit - the harvest script html doesn't change the image click action to point back to wikipedia, so the harvest script will need to resolve this.

CSS link colour in blue theme. In the blue Otago Poly theme, link colours of the WP demo are displayed in green - They should be blue (However in the green OERu theme, links should be green. I suspect an oversight in the NewSplash CSS.)
- PL - link colours can be changed on the customiser? I will set to be the same as the menu
- Ideally the theme should be deployed without the need for custom settings in WordPress when first "imported" with the script. --Mackiwg (talk) 03:18, 17 February 2015 (UTC)

How do you upload a scan page with either a desired HTML fragment or a list of links, rows, colors? (The thing behind the "tree icon" in the menu bar of https://olijones.github.io/ )
- Will need to decide if we deploy the scan page concept for the prototype DS4OER course. Will discuss with Jim --Mackiwg (talk) 04:20, 17 February 2015 (UTC)
- The Scan page is an experimental alternate navigation which we are trialling. I hope to trial this again during the next course and will survey learners to get feedback on the utility. You can see a working example by clicking on the tree here: http://wikieducator.org/course/OCL4Ed/. This is essentially a row and column grid layout which generates "buttons" which link to the relevant pages in the course site. In this example, the current page is highlighted in green. Our prototype example utilises a widget and templates in the wiki to the identify pages and structure for the script to "talk" with the target page CSS (see wiki example: http://wikieducator.org/Practice:OCL4Ed/SCAN ) For the Wordpress theme - is it possible to emulate the pop-up window for prototype purposes in the current theme? --Mackiwg (talk) 21:07, 3 March 2015 (UTC)

For the rendering of [oer_accordion], is it possible to have the "arrow" indicators while keeping the full bar of the accordion clickable? - The 3rd level navigation page element has an example of the arrow (but the full bar is not clickable.) - Introduced new bug. Expand / collapse function not working --Mackiwg (talk) 20:27, 22 February 2015 (UTC)
- PL Edit - there was an issue with syntax, have fixed and improved guidance
- Accordion still not working for me (I think I have the syntax correct) - see https://wordpress-oerudevpgogy.rhcloud.com/support/waynes-page/. Note there is an error in the instructions - feedback element for Art using science_data. Thought: You could reuse components of the CSS for the 3rd-level page element navigation (see for eg https://wordpress-oerudevpgogy.rhcloud.com/assessment/peer-evaluation/submit-activity/) - this is effectively an accordion? --Mackiwg (talk) 03:47, 25 February 2015 (UTC)
- PL Edit - ah joys of definitions - you have an accordion and an accordion multi now so two shortcodes.
- For [oeru_accordion] - please remove the graphic depicting a menu so that the accordion only displays the title text. --Mackiwg (talk) 05:26, 3 March 2015 (UTC)
- Please indent the body text (same pixels as accordion multi). I see the text is running on the left margin. --Mackiwg (talk) 05:38, 3 March 2015 (UTC)
- Cool - neat to have [oeru_accordion_multi] - do you think we should cater for collapsed view of all accordion items when the page loads, rather than one expanded and one collapsed? Not a feature request, just wondering about best deployment. --Mackiwg (talk) 05:26, 3 March 2015 (UTC)

- Still displaying the WikiEducator theme for idevices. It should use the local theme (i.e. the Blue banner with corresponding icon set.) --Mackiwg (talk) 21:19, 22 February 2015 (UTC)
- PL Edit - changed all to PNG
- The type parameter is case sensitive. I noticed that the instructions are not consistent where the type parameter contains 2 words. In some cases the second word is lowercase, and others the 2nd word is upper-case. Could we implement this so that the type parameter is not case sensitive (that is cater for all lower case and options of first and 2nd word upper and lower case so the user doesn't need to worry about case. When rendered - the theme convention is First word upper case and second word lower case.) --Mackiwg (talk) 03:57, 25 February 2015 (UTC)
- PL - There was some case sensitivity removal in code, I've made it more explicit
- Almost there ;-). Code now handles case sensitivity options in the Title parameter in the shortcode. However, when the idevice renders in published view, all text is lower case. The default rendering for IDevices should always be First letter upper case, if the idevice has a second word, the second word should be lowercase. --Mackiwg (talk) 05:06, 3 March 2015 (UTC)
