OERu Quality Review Project

Agenda Working Party members to add agenda items

  • Update of work from the OERu International Partners Meeting (Adrian & Wayne)
  • Rationalisation of Working Groups in the OERu (Wayne, could you speak to this please?)
  • Starting work on a pilot course with the eCampus Alberta tool (Adrian)
  • Assessment review (Adrian)
  • Reference to Hegarty's (2015) 8 attributes of open pedagogy (this does not go against the OERu's principle of not imposing a single pedagogy)

ACTIONS from the last meeting

Wayne: to contact Alberta eCampus for access to the quality documentation and toolkit eCampusAlberta site no longer exists, but traced a snapshot of the quality tools via the Internet Archive Wayback machine.

Wayne: to determine if there are linkages between this work and that undertaken by the OERu Curriculum & Planning Group.

Note: all members have agreed to use the Quality Review Project website, the chat.oeru.org tool, and the OERu Community tool to support open and transparent planning processes and accountable communication. In addition, all future meetings of this group will be recorded to become part of this record.

Audience as consideration for quality indicator, lack of current data to support student experience, role of student evaluation tool and possibly designing one (is this part of our remit?), set learning activities that capture that information, include demographic information (educational experiences), full evaluation of courses done formally, need access to current data.

Particular emphasis on People, Openness, Trust. There is possible adaption of the Eight Attributes (Hegarty, 2015, p. 2) into the eCampus Alberta tool.

Need to define 'quality' and 'elements of quality' within the context of the OERu

BASE++ model? MVP then extend is generally accepted as good practice

Outcome: Annotated bibliography of resources that acknowledges the existing work, and the applicability to this project, and salient points.

Focus of next meeting will be these outcomes
