The students navigate in this model through OER resources, with their assignments as Waypoints

1.1.1 What does it take to succeed in an online course (paragraph)
1.1.2 Your statement of intent - why are you taking this course? (2-3 paragraphs)
1.1.3 Narrative Essay - something meaningful in your life (5 paragraphs)
1.2.1 Set up your e-portfolio. Post the above elements
1.2.2 Identifying audience - write 250 words explaining to a potential employer why you want your dream job. Then write a second version explaining the same thing to your 5-year old niece
1.2.3 Write a formal application letter for either the next position up in your organization or a new job
1.3.1/2/3 Analysis Essay - various options
1.4.1/2 Blog about your work in this course so far - what has your experience been so far?
1.4.3 Argument essay - Identify an issue (at work or in society) and present a solution - supported with at least three pieces of data. These data must be cited with MLA formatting
1.5.1/2/3 Research essay - 1000-1300 words: discuss the effects of “social media” on written communication in the first decade of the twenty-first century
KEY ---- Initial number = Domain*, second digit = skill, third digit = level (1 is intro., 3 is high)
- Here the domain is College Composition; we have reverted to this to work with the OERu model, unbundling this course from our more comprehensive Composition and Media domain of our “Pathways” Associates program
