QUESTION 2: PARTNERS DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT MANUAL

Add recommendations here:

  • Encourage collaboration, with development and frequent refinement in the open
    • Just do it - get a starting point down and refine, the version tracking records contributions and allows recovering earlier revisions if desired
    • Stress how Internet scale may allow analytics to guide course design/layout/technology testing and evolution at levels not practical in a single institution
    • have the option to consider a "course" as a live process rather than a static entity
      • micro courses might encourage this agile style development
    • Manual should be a living document, refined as we discover things that work. Suggest but don't codify, at least until we have more experience. Prefer convention over specification.
  • Provide guidance in searching existing OERs and reusing/recontextualizing/recombining
  • Explain the flexibility of open file formats facilitating reuse and deployment in different technologies
  • Provide guidance in seeking out openly licensed assets (images, video, audio)
  • or asking original creators to relicense their work more openly for reuse
  • How to encourage faculty to make helping with OERu project part of their courseactivities or assessments e.g. computer students
  • links to videoclips of folks already involved and meetup sessions for support
