Institute of Technology Sligo in Ireland is a nationally accredited higher education institution, committed to improving access to education for all, providing high-quality education locally on our world-class campus, and nationally and internationally to our many online distance learners.

Institute of Technology, Sligo, located on the North West coast of Ireland is a nationally accredited higher education institution with over 5,600 students.

The college's 70 acre campus provides a state of the art learning environment for students from 36 countries and our international students are increasing annually. Established in 1970, IT Sligo has a proud tradition of innovation and outreach Today we deliver flexible contemporary programmes from higher certificate (associate degree) and degree level to taught postgraduate and research degrees. An accredited member of the European Credit Transfer Scheme for Higher Education Awards, IT Sligo received the Extended European Erasmus University Charter in 2007.

In addition to our excellent campus based programmes, IT Sligo is a national leader in online learning in Ireland. Our first online programme was delivered in 2003 and today we have over 1200 students taking 25 online courses primarily in engineering and science. We are proud of our ability to respond to and tailor our programmes to meet the needs of industry at home and overseas.

Membership of the OERu is an exciting development for our Institute. We look forward to contributing to and supporting the development of a globally connected network.
