OERu/About page
The About page has more variables than many of the templated introductory pages, but it is still worth using a template for the basics.
Required parameters
- image: Link to image (saved within WikiEducator) for this page. E.g. Woman_making_written_notes_and_using_a_macbook.jpg
- microcourse: Name of micro-course, eg "Digital literacies for online learning" or transcluded title, eg.: Role of the project manager
- code: Course code for associated micro-course, eg LiDA101 or transcluded course tag, eg.: IPM101
- learningoutcome: text of the formal learning outcome (This may need to be adapted a little to fit grammar of sentence starting 'In this course you'll...'.)
- learningobjectives: link to the outcome and objectives page for the microcourse, e.g. Writing_for_Business_Success/Overview,_course_aims_and_learning_outcomes
- LPnumber: The number of learning pathways in this microcourse, e.g. four
- orientationpathway: link to overview page of orientation pathway, e.g. Principles_of_marketing/PMKT101/Orientation/Overview
- learningpathways: Bulleted list of learning pathways for this course, with link to overview page for each pathway
- microcoursenumber: the total number of microcourses in the macrocourse, e.g. three
- coursename: The name of the macro-level course that this microcourse is part of, e.g. Learning in a digital age, or Corporate Communications
- studyrecommendation: Add a sentence indicating whether the microcourses should be studied in any particular order, and any other relevant recommendations. E.g.: Each micro-course can be studied independently, but we recommend study in the following order because the later micro-courses draw to some extent on knowledge, skills and resources developed in the earlier ones:
- coursetable: transclusion for table of associated microcourses. E.g. :Corporate_communication/course_table
- assessmentoverview: link to wikieducator assessment overview page for this course, e.g. :Introduction_to_entrepreneurship/IENT101/Assessment/Overview

What prerequisites should I have, if any?
Anyone is free to participate in this course. An internet connection and basic web-browsing skills are recommended, with the ability to create a blog and microblog account (instructions and self-study tutorials provided.) You are requested to keep a personal learning journal, as reflection has been shown to markedly increase learning.
You will need to be proficient in English language (reading, writing and listening) to participate successfully in this course.
