About Us
OER Africa is an innovative new project, headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya, under the auspices of the South African Institute for Distance Education (SAIDE). OER Africa has been established to play a leading role in driving the development and use of Open Educational Resources (OER) on the African continent.
With seed funding from the Hewlett Foundation, OER Africa is providing a unique opportunity to deploy African experts and expertise to harness the concept of OER to the benefit of higher education systems, institutions, educators, and students on the continent and around the world.
