Njala University

The promogation of the Universities Act of August 2005, gave the former Njala University College, a constituent college of the University of Sierra Leone all the rights and mandates of a full-fledge University.

OER At Njala University

Njala University is presently at the heart of OER in Sierra Leone. The University provides learning opportunities for all groups of learners including teachers, civil servants and peasant farmers. Presently there are certificates that awarded by distance learning, whilst the MSc degree in Peace and Development studies could also received by distance.

The untrained and unqualified teachers making one-third of the teacher population now benefit from the distance education offered by the University
