“Research Methodology and Computer Application in Social Science Research”

The Department of Sociology, DSB Campus, Kumaun University, Nainital is organizing a 10 days training course on “Research Methodology and Computer Application in Social Science Research” w.e.f. July 18 to 27, 2010.
The major course contents include –
i. Scientific social research, type, methods and major steps of research
ii. Data processing and analyzing
iii. Statistical techniques in social science
iv. Scaling techniques
v. Computer application in social science research
vi. Report writing

Participation Criteria
The participants pursuing doctoral work, college & university teachers, members of recognized research institutes who are engaged in doctoral work or planning to engage themselves in research work may apply for this course. The Organizing Committee will select the participants as per ICSSR guide lines. Criteria for selection would be based on the needs of the participants. However the local Post-graduate persons planning to pursue the research programme may be given opportunity to participate the course. In this regard the decision of the Organizing Committee will be final.
