MathGloss/Z/Zeros of a polynomial
From WikiEducator
Zero of a polynomial:
Let [math]f(x) = a_0 + a_1x + a_2x^2 + \ldots + a_nx^n = 0 [/math] be a polynomial of degree [math]n[/math].
A scalar [math]\alpha[/math] is said to be a zero of [math]f(x)[/math] if [math]f(\alpha)[/math] = 0
i.e. [math]a_0 + a_1x + a_2x^2 + \ldots + a_nx^n = 0 [/math]
