Objectives
The objectives of this module are that participants will be able to
- Explore the background to ePortfolios and ways of working with ePortfolios;
- Discuss the reasons for developing and introducing ePortfolios and the advantages for learners
- Explore the purposes and processes of developing ePortfolios including:
- learning processes
- reflection
- evaluation and assessment
- planning learning
- defining objectives;
- Understand the role of teachers in the portfolio process;
- Explain different ways of supporting learning using ePortfolios;
- Discuss the integration of the portfolio process in the curriculum
- Explore issues in developng e-Portfolios including:
- ownership
- assessment
- the use of multimedia
- licensing and rights using digital data

Module 1
Processes of recording and collecting data.
Objectives
The objectives of this module are that participants will be able to:
- Reflect on how to choose content to be stored in the portfolio
- Discuss when and how often a portfolio should be updated
- What should go into the portfolio
- Structure content within an e-Portfolio
- Develop and present different media within an e-portfolio
- Develop and present a coherent collection of artefacts for a given purpose
- Understand the relationship between content and processes in developing an e-Portfolio

Module 2
Processes of reflection in learning.
Objectives
The objectives of this module are that participants will be able to:
- Explain, develop and apply strategies to stimulate learners to reflect on their own learning process/progress.
- Explain, develop and apply strategies to support learners in recording and structuring reflection (questioning).
- Have an understanding of appropriate methods and formats of documenting reflection
- Provide critical feedback to learners and assist learners in providing critical feedback to peers
- Develop guidance on different levels of reflection: self-reflection, reflection for/with peers, reflection for/with tutors
- Reflect on their own work and practice
- Consider how the learning environment affects the students ability to reflect in a self confident way

The objectives of this module are that participants will be able to:
- describe and critically reflect on assessment and evaluation processes and procedures within own education institution and system
- consider how e-portfolios might be evidenced and evaluated
- discuss the role of evaluation and assessment within portfolio development
- consider the role of the teacher in supporting and facilitating evidence of e-Portfolio achievement
