MEASUREMENTS

30.2.01 MODULE UNIT DESCRIPTION

This module unit involves the study of procedures of measuring construction works, using approved standards of measurements for construction works.

PURPOSE

This module unit is intended to equip the trainee with necessary knowledge and skills of determining the quantities of materials, earth works and building elements.

30.2.02 GENERAL OBJECTIVES

At the end of the module unit, the trainee should be able to:

1. Understand historical background of quantities surveying
2. Acquire necessary knowledge in processes used in measurements of building works
3. Appreciate the use of mensuration in quantities
4. Understand the concepts and principles used in measurements of construction elements
